The Homeschool Mother’s Journal~May 16

The Homeschool Mother's Journal

In my life this week…

Well I am still decluttering the boys room. I did finally finish going through all of our Christmas ornaments/decorations. It has been all neatly repacked and put away. I am still working on some items in the boys room. Mainly sorting winter/summer clothes. Getting ready to change over.  I am doing it a bit later this year since we have had a cool spring and have only had extremely warm weather for a day or two.  I hope to finish up in their room this week!

We have had two of our neighbors here for the last week working on our windows. We are having some leaks repaired. It looks like one of them may still be leaking though…..sigh….

In our homeschool this week…

We started on our chocolate unit and it has been lots of fun! We have learned quite a bit about chocolate. We are also getting in our basics: math, reading and spelling! Also lots of read aloud time!

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…

We did not go to many places last week. The boys have both been sick. Between allergies, colds and a virus. We stayed close to home with the exception of going to visit my parents and going to the bank.

My favorite thing this week was…

Yesterday we all piled into the living room to watch Ponyo. This is one of Kaden’s favorite movies and the boys and Larry have watched it and Kaden wanted me to watch it. So we took time yesterday to watch it.

What’s working/not working for us…

Everything is going pretty smooth right now.

Homeschool questions/thoughts I have…

Do you do anything special to celebrate the end of the school year? We generally don’t but maybe we should? We are year rounder's. What fun things do you do to end your school year?

A photo, video, link, or quote to share…
