The Homeschool Mother’s Journal~June 11

The Homeschool Mother's Journal

In my life this week…

This week flew by! It has been hot and humid here! Real hot as in 95 degrees hot! I don’t do well in the heat! I have stayed inside. A lot!  I am still in declutter mode. Working on the kitchen counters now. I am motivated to get more stuff removed from this house.

In our homeschool this week…

We have been working on just the basics here. I need to sit down in the next couple of days and plan our summer units.

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…

I was supposed to have a doctor appointment this week (check up) but the doctor was sick! Tuesday was our church dinner. We had a nice meal and a nice visit with the others who attended. The boys and I had haircuts this week. Thursday we spent the day helping my parents and my brother Mike take down a tree that needed to come down. Yesterday we visited the library after not visiting for almost a month! (that never happens). We also took several bags of items to the thrift store. Last night we went shopping for a few summer clothes for the boys.

My favorite thing this week was…

Visiting with my parents and brother on Thursday. We had a nice day, even though it was so hot!

Things I’m working on…

Organizing our books. I am weeding through all of our books shelves. We have 5 book cases and they need to be go through!

I’m reading…

I am just finishing up Branded (review coming) and starting Lazarus Awakening.

A photo, video, link, or quote to share…

The heat has hit us here in TX too. We have been hitting the pool around 7pm when it cools down a bit. We are schooling through the summer so that helps keep the kids entertained. Incredibly jealous of all your book shelves. Oh how I love books!

We have guests in from Texas and we have had lots of Hot days. Temps in the 90's and "Real Feel" in the 100's. The girls said we ordered the weather so they would feel comfortable. LOL We are looking forward to a couple cooler days next week so we can get some outdoor trips done before they go home on Thursday. Sounds like you have been busy. Stay Cool!!!
