Homeschool Mother’s Journal~June 3

Summer-Edition

In my life this week…

Wow where has this week gone? It just flew by! This week we are thinking of summer. Summer plans, summer activities.

In our homeschool this week…

We are still working on our Chocolate unit! Yes really! We have been really slow with this but we have learned so much about chocolate and it has been really fun. I am ready to be done with it!

Places we are going and people we are seeing…

Saturday was our annual yard sale at my aunt and uncle’s house! It was fun to see my family and spend some time hanging out with them!  I only made $30 but it was a fun day.  Monday we were invited to over to our friends house for a cookout.  Today I had to go for my blood work and errand running. We stopped and bought our first cherries of the summer! YUM!

My favorite thing this week was…

Visiting with our new friends on Memorial day. We had a blast visiting and talking and getting to know each other better.

Things I am working on…

Even though we school year round, we like to change it up a bit in the summer. More outdoor studies and exploration.  I am currently working on some summer learning for the boys. Kaden is going to do some FIAR units and Justin is wanting to learn about wars so we are going to spend the summer doing just that. I am busy collecting resources for that.

Books I am reading…

I am reading an excellent book on Queen Esther!

A photo, video link, or quote to share…

This was from the day Luke joined our family (May 21). We could not find him and he had climbed up between the books on the library shelf and went to sleep! (link is in my sidebar if you are interested)
