Beyond Hope’s Valley~Book Review

Beyond Hope's Valley – Book Three in the Big Sky series

After an extended stay in Montana, where Amish traditions are different than in her home state, Marianna Sommer returns to Indiana for two reasons, first to help her brother and his girlfriend prepare for a baby and their wedding. Second, to plan her own wedding to Aaron Zook -- a marriage she’s been dreaming about ever since childhood. And yet, although she had missed the idyllic farms and families of her upbringing, Marianna is surprised that Indiana is somehow making her long now for Montana.

As months pass, secrets that were hidden in winter’s frozen grasp thaw and take on a life of their own. The truths about a child, about a past relationship, and about God’s plans are being revealed. Walking through a valley of questions, Marianna must hold on to hope as she decides where and with whom her heart truly belongs.

My Thoughts

Beyond Hope’s Valley is the third and final installment of the Big Sky Series! You can read my reviews of the previous two books in this series Beside Still Waters and Along Wooded Paths.

Tricia jumps right in where Along Wooded Paths ends! We meet up with Marianna and Aaron as they travel from Montana, where Marianna’s family is currently living back to Indiana where their homestead is.

Marianna is returning with Aaron to become his bride and to help her brother and his future wife. Marianna is excited to finally see the home that Aaron has built for her. Aaron is a good man, he follows the Amish way of life and is a hard worker.

Marianna having lived in an Amish community in Montana that interacts daily with the Englisch, is feeling the pressure of the constant watching of the folks in her community in Indiana.  Marianna has started to read the Bible on her own and is forming a deep relationship with Jesus, that she has never known before.

Even while she is dreaming of her upcoming marriage to Aaron she cannot forget Ben, an Englischer who is a  singer/song writer. Her feeling for Ben will not go away.

Marianna has to trust God to lead her in the way she should go even when she is not sure what the direction is. Ben is dealing with these same feelings. He has written a song about Marianna and his love for her, which has become a number one hit and shot him to stardom. There is so much temptation that comes with fame and Ben has to have faith in God to resist those temptations that almost destroyed him in the past.

Ben and Marianna make decisions that will effect their lives forever.

I love this story, the characters are all so familiar and I feel like I am visiting with old friends!  Tricia is truly one of my favorite authors! Beyond Hope’s Valley is a wonderful story! You won’t be disappointed!
