Spring Flower Cupcakes!

Are you looking for a pretty and simple dessert? Well look no further. Grab your favorite cupcake recipe and bake up a couple of dozen or so! Then you need to grab some mini marshmallows and some colored sugar!

Not only are these so pretty, but did I mention they are very inexpensive too!

You too can make these oh so pretty cupcakes! I have seen these all over pinterest and thought they were so pretty! best of all they are super easy to make!

I made these recently for our bi-monthly church dinner.

The only colored sugars I happened to have on hand were yellow and blue.

Just imagine the possibilities! Beautiful spring colors violet, pink, purple, various shades of blue and yellow!

Or what about Christmas? I could see these as poinsettia's or perhaps Halloween in black and orange?

Valentine’s day? Pink and Red?

I think I enjoyed looking at them as much as eating them! Your imagination is your only limit!

You can use these for so many occasions!

  • Mother’s Day
  • Spring Banquet
  • Mother/Daughter Banquet
  • Baby Shower
  • Birthday party
  • neighbor gift
  • anniversary

Those are just some of the ideas off the top of my head!

What you need:

  • Cupcakes of your choice
  • icing
  • mini marshmallows
  • colored sugar of your choice
  • zip top bags
  • scissors

Pour colored sugar into the zip top bag (or bags if you are using several colors). Frost your cupcakes. Just a thin layer works well. Cut each marshmallow in half on the diagonal. Drop the marshmallows into the bag and seal. Give the bag a couple of good shakes (kids can help with this). The sugar will stick to the marshmallows where you have cut them in half. Place them on the cupcake. Starting with the outer edge and working your way to the center.

That’s it! I told you it was easy!

I even adapted the marshmallows into crosses to serve with lunch after Kaden’s baptism a couple of weeks ago.
