Practicing The Presence of Jesus {Book Review}

Practicing The Presence of Jesus

 by Wally Armstrong

About the book:

Experience the Gift of His Friendship.

Do you want to experience Jesus as real? When we look at Jesus' life on earth, we see Him calling people to simply know Him. He made no demand on them to believe theological propositions. "Follow me" was the invitation which they accepted. They got to know and communicate with the real person. There is a big difference between believing something is true and experiencing it as real. This is the story of how Wally Armstrong learned to communicate with the real person of Jesus in his everyday life. Armstrong experiences Jesus up close and personal and introduces readers to the same experience. In a conversational manner, he explores what it is like to have a relationship with Jesus as if He is sitting right there next to us. He keeps an empty chair ready and imagines Jesus sitting beside him as they talk.

My Thoughts:

Practicing the Presence of Jesus is a small book with a very powerful message! Wally Armstrong shows us through the example of using an empty chair that we can have an ongoing personal and deep friendship with Jesus.

Sometimes our faith walk may seem like all we are doing is serving and showing Jesus to others and yet we neglect the most important part of our relationship with Him.  That one on one time. That time that Jesus wants to spend with us. Do we even realize that Jesus longs for our time with Him? He is there always waiting for us to turn to Him, talk to Him and feel His presence in a tangible way.

Mr. Armstrong shares the story of an old Scotsman who always had an empty chair in his room for Jesus. What a wonderful example of having a deep and moving relationship with our Savior.

This little book will guide you on your journey to your own personal relationship with Jesus.
