The Classical Historian{Review}

The Classical Historian is a family owned company that offers history games and curriculum. They offer a variety of products from ancient to modern history. We received the Medieval History Memory Game, which is available in Ancient and American versions. The cost for this game is $14.95. Also available in a bundle pack (all three time periods) for $39.95.  Each game comes with 64 sturdy playing cards.

The game can be played in two ways. The first being the classic memory game. You turn over a card and then try to find the matching card. If you do not find a match you turn them back in the facedown position and the next player takes their turn. The game progresses as you find matches and the person with the most at the end of the game is declared the winner!  The second way to play is by seeing who can be the fastest at putting their cards into four categories, in this case: Europe, The Americas, The Far East, Arabia.  On go one player puts the cards into the correct category. The player with the fastest time is the winner!

Here the boys were playing the classic memory game! At first Justin (my 11 year old) thought it might be a bit boring! This game has proved to be a challenge even for him! We all love playing and love learning about different places, people and famous landmarks!

We are really enjoying the game~ I highly recommend these memory games! They are fun and educational! Playing has sparked interest in different events in time as well as  learning about different people! It has led to some fun discussions about the people of the Medieval time period and some research as well!
