A few weeks ago we were going on a short vacation and we were determined not to eat out too much and take along some snacks. We have been striving to eat healthier here at our house and that includes snacks.
I thought trail mix would be a yummy treat packed with lots of protein and bit of chocolate. (everyone needs chocolate, right?)
After looking at all the prepackaged trail mix I decided I could make it at much less cost than those small packages offered in the stores.
I headed to my favorite grocery store Aldi and picked up 2 cans of mixed nuts and a bag of pretzels. All for less than $7. Then I headed to Walmart and picked up the M&M’s. I had the cranberries on hand.
Making trail mix is super easy! Just add the two cans of nuts into a container. Add the pretzels. I bought pretzel sticks and just broke them up into bite size pieces. Tossed in some M&M’s and cranberries. Super Easy!
Super Easy Trail Mix
2 cans of mixed nuts
*For the pretzel’s, M&M’s and Cranberries I use a couple of small handfuls of each. You can use as little or as much as you want. Depending on your taste!
*You could also change out the cranberries for another type of dried fruit, raisins, blueberries, cherries, pineapple whatever you like. I want to add some granola to the next batch I make up! Really you cannot mess this up! Make it to you and your family’s taste!
