My Thoughts

Balanced is a book written for work-at-home mom’s and those that aspire to be. I am currently not a work at home mom in the traditional sense of bringing in an income. However, I am a homeschooling mom who is home each day with my boys.

I have gleaned some wonderful insight from reading Tricia’s book! It is ok to follow my dreams while teaching my children. It is ok for my kids to see me working on a review or spending time reading my Bible.   My home does not need to be child centered, but I do need to be sure my children feel that they are a vital part of our family. Contributing to the family as a whole and as individuals.

This book has encouraged me not only to seek my dreams and not feel guilty about it, but to encourage my children to seek their own dreams!

Tricia is full of encouragement and practical  advice as she shares with us how she balances work and home. She mentions in the very beginning of the book that God comes first and foremost in her life and that the balance she works to create would not work at all if God was not the center of her life.

Of course there are also sacrifices that need to be made. Even following our dreams we need to have our priorities in place. Some things will have to wait. We need to be aware of the needs of our families and remember that we have our children’s tender hearts to care for an nurture.

Whether you are a seasoned work-at-home mom, a wanna be work-at-home mom or if you are like me and are neither of these, I believe that you will find some useful ideas and wisdom in this book!
