Day of the Snow Geese

For a week we had Canada geese in the field across from our home. They were out there eating even while the snow was on the ground. We figured that the field was a stop on their way to where ever they were going. We see Canada geese migrating either north or south frequently.

A couple Saturday’s ago we had some new visitors! Snow geese! They were here two days and could not seem to decide whether to land or leave! They landed in the same field that the Canada geese were visiting. (Click on the pictures to see the photo bigger)

flying around trying to decide if and where they should land. They landed and took off several times while we watched them.

They flew directly over the house several times and I was able to capture these pictures. I thought they were just beautiful with their black tipped wings flying overhead!

Close up! There were so many of them! They were stunning!

Heading off…..they kept circling around and landed in a different field before taking off once again!

They were such a beautiful sight to see! Bye geese see you next winter!

And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.”
